Carolina Raptor Center is within Latta Nature Preserve.
During this special event there will be a variety of vulture related activities for all ages, including pop-up experiences on the Raptor Trail.
You’ll have a chance to learn why vultures are so important for our environment. They are known as “nature’s garbagemen,” because they clean up carcasses of dead animals and prevent the spread of disease.
In addition, there will be a Vickrey Auction, which will feature mostly vulture related items, with proceeds going to vulture conservation efforts.
A Vickrey Auction is a type of sealed-bid auction. Bidders submit written bids without knowing the bid of the other people in the auction. The highest bidder wins but the price paid is the second-highest bid.
