Ignite Achievement Academy, at 6100 W Sugar Creek Road, Charlotte, North Carolina, is hosting a Sensory-Friendly Trunk or Treat on Saturday, October 26, 2024, from 4 to 6 p.m.
It’s free to attend.
This Trunk or Treat event is an inclusive and sensory-friendly experience tailored for children with special needs and their families. Enjoy a safe, welcoming environment where every child can participate in the magic of trick-or-treating, free from the typical barriers that can make traditional events challenging.
At this Trunk or Treat, you’ll find thoughtfully decorated trunks, each offering treats and non-food goodies suitable for children with allergies and specific dietary needs.
The event will feature low-sensory spaces, with no loud noises or bright lights, allowing guests to enjoy Halloween at their own pace. Beyond collecting treats, kids can engage in fun games, crafts, and activities that encourage social interaction and skill-building in a supportive atmosphere.
Costumes are encouraged, but they’re not for everyone, and there will be no awkward questions.
This event is open to all family members, so bring siblings along to share in the fun! Adults must be accompanied by a child, with a maximum of two adults per child is allowed.
