If you associate tulips with the Netherlands, you might be surprised to learn that in the springtime, there’s a farm about an hour of Charlotte with a big field of tulips. You can go during their opening hours and cut your own tulips.
Howard Family Farm is at 250 Crater Road in Harmony, 57 miles straight up I-77 from Charlotte. They grow flowers, strawberries, pumpkins, vegetables and more.

Cut Your Own Tulips
Opening date is now set for Saturday, March 18th, 2023, but you should check on Howard Family Farm’s social media before heading out, since weather can affect the date. If the weather is better than expected on Friday, March 17th, they’ll open then!
Admission is $5 for adults, and $3 for kids under 12. Each stem is $1, or $2 if you dig up the bulb.
The farm will be open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m., weather permitting.
Make sure to follow Howard Family Farm’s Facebook page and Instagram account.
Also, a second farm in the area (a little farther away) is U-cut tulips too, in the same time period. Check out Dewberry Farm in Kernersville.
