The third Friday of every month, Hot Glass Alley, 438 Atando Avenue, Charlotte, North Carolina, hosts an open demo from 6 to 9 p.m.
At this free event you can watch a piece of glass art as it’s created, from start to finish. You’ll watch every step as molten glass is shaped into the final product, with commentary that explains the amazing process.
While you’re there you can also learn about the classes and other events that Hot Glass Alley hosts, and you can browse the gallery.

The October 24, 2025, open demo is a special one. At this special Halloween-themed event, Blow in the Dark, the whole demo will take place in the dark, so the only light is natural glow of molten glass and the ovens.
Guest artist Josh DeWall will be creating a creepy Halloween-themed piece of art.
In addition, Lively Printing Co. will be doing screen printing with an exclusive design for the event. Bring your own textile from home or buy one there.
Wear your costume, because there will be a Halloween costume.
