The Great Race in Mooresville: Over a hundred classic cars will roll into town June 28

The Great Race is an antique, vintage, and collector car competitive controlled-speed endurance road rally on public highways. It is not a test of top speed. It is a test of a driver/navigator team’s ability to follow precise course instructions and the car’s (and team’s) ability to endure on a cross-country trip.

All cars must be from no later than 1974. In past years, cars from 1900-1910 have competed, and even won.

The Great Race will visit nine states from June 21 to 29, 2025. On June 28, 2025, the Great Race will be making a stop in Downtown Mooresville, North Carolina.

The stop in Mooresville, hosted by Downtown Mooresville & Visit Mooresville, is a FREE event on June 28, 2025, with a family-friendly atmosphere, so bring the kids and welcome more than 120 classic cars and trucks as they roll into town.

A local car show will be held on Broad Street 4 to 6 p.m. Great Race arrives around 5 p.m. on Main Street.

You’ll have access to the cars, drivers, and navigators. In some cases, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see cars that are more than 100 years old, competing in this long-distance rally. There are also high-end sports cars, muscle cars, classics, and hot rods.
