Make sure to visit The Mint Museum Uptown this weekend for its Grand Re-Opening Celebration.
The festivities take place Thursday, September 20th, through Saturday, September 22nd, 2018, and include aerial performances by Caroline Calouche & Co., MAINFRAME (the new art show from Young Affiliates of the Mint), free access to gallerie, live mural painting and more.
Here’s what’s happening each day of the Grand Re-Opening Celebration.
Thursday, September 20th
7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Free
Opening Party for MAINFRAME, the new art show from Young Affiliates of the Mint. After this opening party, MAINFRAME explores the role of technology in our society. The show will be open for free on Wednesdays and Fridays through Sundays through October 17th in the Level 5 expansion space.
Friday, September 21st
5 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
Free (except for Mint to Move Culture Dance Night; see below)
- Performances of “Perspective,” a new vertical aerial dance by Carolina Calouche & Co., performed outside on the facade of Mint Museum Uptown at 5 p.m., 6 p.m., 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. These are 15 minute shows.
- Free viewing of MAINFRAME.
- Free access to the Mint’s galleries from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., celebrating new operating hours for Mint Museum Uptown (opening through 9 p.m. every Friday from now on; regular admission will apply after this week).
- Mint to Move Cultural Dance Night from 7 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., celebrating Latin American Heritage Month. $13 for non-members, $9.75 for Mint Members; $1 off before 9 p.m.
