
Mint Museum Randolph, at 2730 Randolph Road, Charlotte, North Carolina, regularly offers free art kits, which are related to one of the museum’s exhibits or pieces of art. In general, the art kits are available once a month, for a four-day period.
The art kits are for all ages.
During the days that the art kits are offered, you can pick them up during any of the museum’s hours, while supplies last.
- Wednesday: 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- Thursday through Saturday: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Also, on Wednesdays, the museum is free to visit from 5 to 9 p.m., and there is a free drop-in art activity from 5 to 8 p.m.
The art kits are supported by Mint Museum Auxiliary.

Pastel Landscape
February 4 to 7, 2026
Play with pastels to color an impressionist style scene inspired by French painter Emile Schuffenecker’s Cliff at Etretat from Renaissance, Romanticism, and Rebellion: European Art from the Smith-Naifeh Collection.
Bead Sculpture

Visit Mint Museum Randolph to pick up a free all-ages project to create at home. This month, use colorful beads and chenille stems to construct a work of art inspired by Katrina Sánchez’s tembleque sculptures in Interventions: Weaving Joy, Woven Resistance.

Visit Mint Museum Randolph to pick up a free all-ages project to create at home. This month, create your own stylized word art with pencil and markers inspired by I’m Taking Time Away to Dream by contemporary artist Jeffrey Gibson.
Kuba Collage
May 6 to 9, 2026
Visit Mint Museum Randolph to pick up a free all-ages project to create at home. This month cut, paste, and assemble a textural collage inspired by the woven and stitched raffia cloth featured in Designing Dynamism: Kuba Textiles from the DR Congo, The Wesley Mancini Collection.
