The Mint Museum Uptown, at Levine Center for the Arts, 500 S Tryon Street, Charlotte, NC, is celebrating the opening of The Vault with free admission all weekend, Saturday, July 15, and Sunday, July 16, 2023.

One note: On Mint Museum’s website, it says that the Mint Museum parking garage is closed at this time. Use the parking lot at The Green (across Tryon Street–you can enter the parking garage from Tryon Street or College Street.)
The Vault
The Vault will be on display from July 1 to September 17, 2023. Admission is included as part of general admission to The Mint Museum.

Organized by guest curator Jessica Gaynelle Moss, The Vault features objects from the private collections of four prominent Black art collectors living in Charlotte: Judy and Patrick Diamond, Nina and James Jackson, Christy and Quincy Lee, and Cheryse and Christopher Terry. A range of collector theory and methodology around collecting is presented through objects from each of their private collections. Visitors will be able to explore vintage photography, original paintings, prints, sculptures, furniture, vinyl records, and other culturally specific ephemera.

- 1 to 3 p.m.: Celebration opens to museum members and general public.
- 1:30 to 3 p.m.: Tour of the exhibition with guest curator Jessica Gaynelle Moss and the four collectors: Patrick and Judy Diamond, Christy and Quincy Lee, Nina and James Jackson, Cheryse and Quincy Terry, plus free pop-up portrait sessions with local artists Cary King and Breonna Collier.
