Just in time for back-to-school shopping, Target has introduced its first-ever Denim Take Back Event.
From August 4 to 10, 2024, you can recycle your used or outgrown denim (any brand) at any Target store for a discount on NEW denim clothing purchases.
You must have a Target Circle account to participate.
How does Target’s Denim Take Back work?
From August 4 to 10, 2024, you can bring up to five denim items, in any condition, to any Target and drop them in the marked in-store boxes.
All types of denim clothing, including pants, shirts, jean jackets, hats and more, will be accepted.
All locations are participating —with the exception of select small format stores.
You’ll find signs near the drop-off boxes where you can scan the discount code into your Target Circle account.
Upon scanning, you will receive a Target Circle code for 20% off all denim apparel, including Target-owned brands like Universal Thread, Wild Fable, Goodfellow & Co, Cat & Jack, as well as national brands like Levi’s.
Then, you can redeem the discount on new items between August 4th and 10th.
The bonus will stay in your account until you use it once, or until it expires.
There is a limit of five items per household.
However, regardless of the number of items donated, you will only receive one discount code — good for one-time use on any denim purchase.
The donated denim will be recycled by Target’s partners to create new products, like housing insulation.
