Circle K and Kangaroo Speed Street presented by Coca-Cola returns to the street of Charlotte May 26th to May 28th, noon to 11 p.m. each day. The festival, which celebrates the Coca-Cola 600 race, takes place on Tryon Street, between Stonewall and Trade Streets, and MLK Jr. Boulevard, between Church and Davidson Streets. What this means, of course, is that drivers should make alternate plans for getting around Uptown, as streets will be closed.
This map shows the layout, and this parking map will help too.
The festival features live music, a hot dog eating contest, autograph zone, driver appearances, family entertainment, and much more. A big change this year is that the Friday night and Saturday night concerts will not be free. Tickets will be $15/night. Admission to everything else is still free.
The Friday night concerts feature Montgomery Gentry and Chris Young. The Saturday night concerts feature Gal Friday, Kellie Pickler and the Band Perry.
