This year’s Drumstrong Rhythm & Arts Festival, which raises money for cancer organization, boasts its strongest music lineup yet. It takes place at at Misty Meadows Farm, 455 Providence Road South, in Weddington, just a few miles south of Charlotte, from Friday, May 16th, 2014, through Sunday, May 18th. 34 bands are playing, including the headliner Railroad Earth, as well as Joe Pug, The Felice Brothers, Bombadil, Dom Flemons (original member of Carolina Chocolate Drops) and Kopecky Family Band. The Charlotte music scene is well represented, with many popular bands performing, including Overmountain Men, Time Sawyer, Grown Up Avenger Stuff and Elonzo. See the band schedule here. Besides the music there’s also a 24-hour drum circle, Yoga, cornhole, art and other ongoing activities.
The ticketing is flexible. You can buy a ticket for each day separately or for the whole weekend. It’s much cheaper to buy your ticket in advance. An advance weekend pass is only $50. It’s $80 at the door. You can also buy individual day’s tickets in advance: $15 for Friday, $30 for Saturday and $15 for Sunday. (Each day is $10 more if you buy it at the door.) Camping is included with your ticket. Kids are admitted for $10 each day, or $30 for the whole weekend.
