For three weekends this fall, Downtown Belmont will be displaying Museum of the Moon, a touring art installation by artist Luke Jerram.
The internally lit moon is almost 23 feet in diameter, and features detailed NASA imagery of the lunar surface.
As it’s traveled from city to city and town to town around the world, it’s been accompanied by music that was specifically written for the installation by composer Dan Jones.
In addition, each venue hosts lunar inspired events under the moon. Belmont will be hosting Moonlight on Main, which includes Museum of the Moon, and the activities and events planned around it.
It’s free to experience Museum of the Moon, and many of the activities and performances are free, but some do have costs associated with them.
Museum of the Moon will be at Stowe Park, 24 South Main Street, Belmont, on weekends from from October 22nd to November 7th, 2021. Hours are 5 p.m. to 11:59 p.m.
