The Catawba Riverkeeper Foundation works to ensure clean, plentiful water in the Catawba River Basin through advocacy and education. Learn more about what they do and how you can be involved.
The organization is offering a growing number of opportunities to kayak, including kayak rentals, guided tours, and kids’ programs. Read on to learn about just a few of those opportunities, as well as special events. Make sure to keep checking their website for more announcements.
At the Boathouse, at 115 Willow Drive, McAdenville, you can rent kayaks, or buy a beer or a snack. They also frequently host events, including live music.

Kayak Rental
On Saturdays and Sundays, starting May 4, 2024, you can rent a kayak at the Boathouse.
The cost to rent a kayak, canoe or stand-up paddleboard, is $25. The fee includes the boat, paddle, PFD, and safety instruction. $20 per kayak, canoe, or SUP rental for residents of Belmont, Cramerton, Lowell, or McAdenville
There’s a lot of wildlife to see from the kayak on the Catawba River.
