Historic Brattonsville is an 800-acre historic site at 1444 Brattonsville Road, McConnells, South Carolina, which is about 36 to the southwest of Charlotte.
Historic Brattonsville presents the history of the Scots-Irish and African-Americans in the South Carolina upcountry through preservation, education and living history.

The site includes more than 30 historic structures from the 1760s to the late 19th century.
Visitors can also walk the Revolutionary War battlefield of Huck’s Defeat.
General admission to Historic Brattonsville is $8 for adults, $5 for youth (age 4-17), and $7 for seniors (age 60+).
Historic Brattonsville presents several special events throughout the year.
By The Sweat Of Our Brows
On Saturday, September 14, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Historic Brattonville is hosting a special event, By the Sweat of our Brows.
At this event Historic Brattonsville honors the descendants of Brattonsville’s enslaved community. Black and white Bratton descendants will come together to continue the conversation of their shared history and lineage.
Pre-registration is encouraged. Limited walk-up tickets will be available.
Tickets:
- $8 for adults
- $7 for seniors
- $5 for youth 4-17 years old
- Free for children three and under
