Discovery Place Science, 301 N Tryon Street, Charlotte, NC, will be hosting “The Bias Inside Us,” an exhibition and community engagement project from the Smithsonian, from March 11th to April 9th, 2023.
“The Bias Inside Us” unpacks and demystifies the concept of bias through compelling images, interactives, testimonials and visuals.
As part of the exhibition, guests will:
- Explore the foundational blocks of bias—the psychology of how it forms and how it influences behaviors both consciously and unconsciously.
- Interact with elements that display how implicit and explicit bias shows up in the world—for example in product design, advertising, architecture and technology.
- Watch a series of videos that feature eight voices from diverse perspectives sharing their personal experiences with bias.
The exhibition is included in the price of regular admission.
In addition, Discovery Place Science is hosting four free Community Access Evenings for “The Bias Inside Us.”
The free community evenings will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the following Thursdays:
- March 16th, 2023
- March 23rd, 2023
- March 30th, 2023
- April 6th, 2023
Free admission is to this special exhibition only. The rest of the Museum will be closed during this time.
