Red Calaca Studio is hosting a Celebration of La Virgen de Guadalupe at Tacos El Nevado, 4715 Central Avenue, on Sunday, December 12th, 2021, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
This is a free family event with tamales, drinks, music, and an art workshop for kids.
Most importantly, it’s a public mass to celebrate the birthday of Our Lady of Guadalupe on December 12th, 1531.
For Mexicans and Mexican-Americans, as well as other people of Latin-American heritage, Our Lady of Guadalupe is a powerful symbol of devotion, identity, and patriotism. Her image inspires artists, activists, feminists and the faithful.
The Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City, where a cloak with her image is enshrined, is the most visited Catholic shrine in the world.
