Want to give feedback on what arts, culture, science and history activities should happen in your neighborhood? Attend one of ASC’s free Culture Blocks community gatherings!
ASC Culture Blocks hosts community meals to provide residents a space to gather with their neighbors, enjoy multicultural performances and share their thoughts on what type of experiences they would like to see in their community (at no cost).
With the feedback gathered at these events, ASC’s Culture Blocks program is able to bring activities that speak to the community members’ interest. Some of the free experiences that the Culture Blocks program has been able to bring to neighborhoods in the past few years are African Drum Circles, Clay Workshops, Dance Classes, Artist Branding Workshops, Jazz Concerts, STEM Programs and Photography Courses.

A little more about Culture Blocks
Culture Blocks embraces and celebrates the cultural life and desires of residents and connects communities to arts and culture activities that speak to their interests. By providing cultural experiences closer to where residents live (libraries, parks, recreation centers, and relevant community spaces), ASC increases access and reduce transportation and parking barriers.
Culture Blocks, funded by Mecklenburg County, is a community partnership between Charlotte Mecklenburg Library, Arts & Science Council and Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation.
