The heat this summer is relentless, and getting into a warm swimming pool might not be all that refreshing.
Johnston YMCA, 3025 N Davidson Street, Charlotte, NC, has a solution — at least for a few minutes! It’s offering a Cold Plunge on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, from 5 to 6 p.m.
During this time you can sink into a tub of icy water on the pool deck. You don’t have to be a member of the YMCA to participate. The cost of admission is just one small bag of ice (7 pounds.) You can pick it up at a gas station or a grocery store.
There will be two tubs, and each session is 10 minutes long. You do need to register in advance for your time slot.
