Charlotte Planning, Design & Development Department is planning a Community Drive-In Event on Saturday, October 31st, 2020 at the Park Expo parking lot, 800 Briar Creek Road, from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The primary purpose of this event is to present the draft Charlotte Future 2040 Comprehensive Plan document to the community, as well as provide a safe and fun family-friendly event on Halloween.
This is a drive-in event that requires participants to drive to the venue and remain in their cars. The same information will be shared at four different times.
The family friendly environment will require guests to remain in their cars and be guided to information booths where they will review and provide feedback on the draft plan.
The meeting will be available in four identical sessions of on-stage programming, city presentations, live entertainment and treat stations for the kids.
Guests are asked to arrive up to 30 minutes early for their preferred session and download the Kahoot mobile app to vote and participate during the meeting. Spanish translation services will be provided.
The movie, Back to the Future, will be shown to those who select the last session and stay for the movie.
Session 1: 2 p.m. to 2:45 p.m.
Session 2: 3:30 – 4:15 p.m.
Session 3: 5:00 – 5:45 p.m.
Session 4: 6:30 – 7:15 p.m.
The movie will follow the last session, and ends at 9 p.m.
Event staff and City staff will follow CDC and local safety protocols.
Anyone working with the event will wear masks and practice social distancing at all times.
