The Charlotte Future 2040 Comprehensive Plan is the long-range plan that will guide the development and investments made in our city over the next two decades.
Part of the process is getting feedback from Charlotte residents.
One of the ways that the organization has engaged the community to think about the future of Charlotte is through a board game, Charlotte Future City-Building Game, which was created by Potions and Pixels, a group that plans game nights, both in-person and (these days) online.
This game provides an interactive way for residents to learn about the 2040 plan and have some fun while doing it. The game, which can be played with two to four players, lets you decide what to build and where to build it. In the end, the player with the best city wins the game.
The game is a fun activity for community groups and book clubs, as well as homeowners’ associations and business groups.
You can play the game online at any time through Tabletopia.
You can also receive a physical copy of the board game for free. Fill out this form to have the game mailed to your home.
In addition, the organization hosts online gaming events through Zoom, to play Charlotte Future City-Building Game. The next one is February 24th, 2021, at 12 p.m. Register here. There’s no cost to participate.
