Charlotte Museum of History, at 3500 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, North Carolina, is presenting Carolina’s Home Cooking on Saturday, September 14, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
This is a free event, celebrating the reopening of the restored Log Kitchen.
The event features a live cooking demonstration and book talk by renowned culinary historian Michael Twitty, as well as food samples following historic recipes using modern techniques, prepared by culinary students from Johnson & Wales University, and Barbeque from Bobbee O’s BBQ.
Historic foods are not for public consumption but for educational demonstrations. Food samples by Johnson & Wales culinary students available on a first-come first-serve basis. Bobbee O’s BBQ, not provided by the museum.
Seating at Michael Twitty’s book talk is on a first come first serve basis. The talk is capped at 150 attendees.
Carolina’s Home Cooking is sponsored by Culture Blocks – a community partnership funded by Mecklenburg County.
