A Vibe Called Fresh: Westside Symphony is bringing music, art, and more to Charlotte’s West Side with a six-hour festival that celebrates community, culture and creativity.
The event takes place Saturday, September 21, 2024, from 2 to 8 p.m., at West Complex, 1600 W Trade Street, Charlotte, North Carolina. it’s FREE to attend, but please RSVP here.
It features a first of its kind performance by members of the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra.
The theme, Crunk, Trap, Snap: Celebrating The Golden Years of Southern Rap Party Music, takes guests on a nostalgic journey back to the social scene of the early to mid-2000s with a live cover of a club DJ’s primetime set.
Starting at 7 p.m., Charlotte legend DJ Buttafingaz will set the stage with an hour-long mix of tracks that ruled the nightlife. Local music creatives Harvey Cummings and Rae Monique will arrange instrumentation with the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra and group vocals to perform the live chorus, adlibs and fading of songs.
