The U.S. National Whitewater Center, 5000 Whitewater Center Parkway, hosts one of the most popular 4th of July festivals in Charlotte every year.
The Whitewater Center’s celebration takes place Wednesday, July 3, and Thursday, July 4, 2024, and feature live music, night ops, races, yoga, and Night Ops (illuminated pass activities.) No fireworks have been announced, so we need to assume that they won’t be taking place.
- Wednesday: 6 to 10 p.m.
- Thursday: 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Admission is free, but parking is $12. There is a cost for regular Whitewater Center activities, and for some activities at the celebration, including the Tread, White & Blue 5K Race and SUP Yoga.
Tread, White & Blue 5K Race: Choose from red, white and blue to determine yoru 5K route. Each color takes a different direction. Takes place Thursday, July 4, 2024, at 8 a.m. Pre-registration is $40. Day-of registration is $45. More info.
