C. C. Coddington owned Duke Mansion from 1926-1928. He was a business leader and entrepreneur celebrated for his impact on Charlotte’s economy as an early Buick distributor, a founder of WBT radio, and even a supporter of the first Charlotte Motor Speedway in Pineville. The Coddington story includes a wonderful love story as well.

Coddington — who held the first exclusive Buick franchise in the South, with 67 franchisees across the Carolinas — was a key figure in Charlotte history. Discover the untold story of a business pioneer who harnessed the new technologies of the Roaring ’20s to help lift North Carolina’s economy.
