Diwali is a major Hindu celebration, celebrated over five days.
Diwali is an important annual holiday in India. It’s known as the Festival of Lights. The festival takes place between mid-October and mid-November every year, and symbolizes the victory of light over darkness.
It’s traditional for people who observe Diwali to wear their best clothes, light their homes with diyas (small oil lamps made from clay), decorate with rangoli (colorful floor art), perform worship ceremonies, light fireworks and have family feasts, where sweets and gifts are shared.
