Pineville Library Presents: Diwali & Mithila Art

Join local artist Rupam Varma and explore the cultural significance of Mithila Folk Art.
Create a Diwali themed art pattern known as “Rangoli” along with a lamp (“diya”) in Mithila art style. The traditional art of Mithila Painting is an ancient art form that hails from Mithila region in Bihar (India). It is drawn freehand style using fine lines and vibrant colors. It will be an apt celebration of the festival of lights i.e. Diwali which wishes for happiness and prosperity to family and friends.

Join us for a cultural exploration of this five-day celebration through stories, music, and dance. Each child will create artwork through hands-on stations that represent the “light” of this holiday.
