Diwali, the “Festival of Lights,” is an important annual holiday in India that’s celebrated between mid-October and mid-November. The celebration includes rangoli (colorful floor art), fireworks, family feasts, sweet and gifts, and small oil lamps made of clay, called diyas.
Botiwalla Indian Street Grill, within Optimist Hall, at 1115 N Brevard Street, Charlotte, North Carolina, is hosting a Diwali Mela on Friday, November 1, 2024, from 5 to 10 p.m.
The celebration includes:

- Raffle to support Dharavi Diary, a volunteer-run center in Mumbai that supports health and education
