Parking at Discovery Place
TheThe Discovery Place Science Parking Deck is at 220 West 6th Street, Charlotte, NC, 28202, on the corner of Church and 6th St. in Uptown Charlotte.
General Admission & IMAX tickets receive a 25% discount on parking in the Discovery Place Science Parking Deck.
Prepaid parking is not available online.
How It Works
- Park your vehicle in the Discovery Place Science Parking Deck and save your parking receipt.
- Stop by any Admissions Desk on Levels 1 & 3, and receive a 25% off sticker coupon attached to your receipt.
- Upon exit, check out inside the Discovery Place Science Parking Deck and apply your discount.
Note: Members and Welcome visitors can still purchase $8 flat rate parking at the kiosks inside the Museum or at the Admissions Desk.
After 5:00 p.m. parking is a $10 flat rate for all guests.
Alternately, you can park at 7th Street Station garage, 270 E 7th Street, buy something at The Market at 7th Street, and get your ticket validated for two hours.
Welcome Program at Discovery Place
The Welcome program provides low-cost admission to North Carolina and South Carolina families who receive Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) or Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) food and nutrition benefits.
Tickets are just $3. Show your ID and proof of WIC or EBT benefits. You can purchase $3 tickets for up to 5 guests.
You’ll need to bring:
- A valid North Carolina or South Carolina state-issued photo ID
- Your Electronics Benefit Transfer (EBT) card or a WIC card/voucher.
Also, parking is discounted to $8 per day through Welcome.
In addition, the Welcome Program offers membership discounted to $75.
This offer is for any of the Discovery Place museums.

Military Discount at Discovery Place
Active members of the U.S. Military, veterans and their immediate family members will receive $2 off Museum admission at any Discovery Place museum. Tickets can be purchased online or in person. Show your military ID at the admissions desk. Also, military members can get $20 off their membership.
Wednesday Discount
Every Wednesday, get $5 off children’s tickets at Discovery Place Science.
Senior Discount at Discovery Place Science
Seniors – Guests age 60 or older will receive $3 off Museum admission at Discovery Place Science, whether the ticket is purchased online or in person.
Group Discount at Discovery Place Science
Groups – Perfect for schools, camps, company outings, scout troops, seniors, family reunions and more, groups of 15 or more receive discounts off general admission pricing. You must schedule in advance by contacting Guest Sales. More details
ASTC Reciprocal Admission
If you live outside the Charlotte area and you’re a member of a science center or museum participating in the ASTC Travel Passport Program, you are eligible for free admission to Discovery Place Science when you visit Charlotte. To qualify, your resident Museum and your home address must be located outside of 90 miles of Discovery Place Science.
