The 2nd Carolina Irish Fest takes place Saturday, September 21st, 2019, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., in Uptown Charlotte, on the corner of 7th Street and Caldwell Street.
Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 day of the festival.

The Carolina Irish Fest is a one-day festival being held in the heart of Charlotte in celebration of the Irish-American community.
This annual event will showcase the best in local and international Irish musicians, singers and dancers, as well as traditional food and drink. All generations are welcome to enjoy and experience this region’s rich Irish roots.
Live music and dancing will be provided by:
- Derek Warfield and The Young Wolfe Tones
- The band Creel will also be on hand featuring Damian McCarthy and Colin Farrell
- The Connick School of Dance
- Walsh Kelley School of Irish Dancing.
Irish dancing workshops, classes and exhibitions will be held throughout the day.
A variety of Irish food and drink will feature prominently and will offer choices for the entire family. Local restaurants will serve up signature dishes to give the crowd a traditional taste of Ireland. Kid friendly food offerings and a play area will be on site as well. Support comes from some favorite local spots, with Murphy’s Tavern and Inishmore being part of a group including Connolly’s on Fifth, Dandelion Market, Tyber Creek and The Daily.
Those further afield might recognise Mary O’Neill’s in Waxhaw, Grace O’Malley’s in Matthews and Uptown’s RiRa Irish Pub.
From whiskey tasting to a VIP lounge, Shepherd’s Pie to Irish Stew, every palate and persuasion will be satisfied.
More than 20 vendors will be on site, selling merchandise such as t-shirts, musical instruments and everything in between.
The purpose of the Carolina Irish Fest to raise funds for the development of a Charlotte Irish-American Center (CIAC) as a non-profit, multi-use amateur sports and cultural facility.
The facility will provide world-class affordable playing fields and a general purpose clubhouse / banquet facility open to all Charlotte sports organizations, neighborhood groups and citizens.
The Carolina Irish Fest promises to be a day where you don’t have to be Irish, just lucky to attend!
