Mr. K’s is celebrating 50 years at the same location in Charlotte. How many Charlotte restaurants can say that? No, really, not a rhetorical question. How many? Mr. K’s has been at 2107 South Boulevard.
They’ve been dishing out burgers, soft-serve, fries, chicken sandwiches and more to hungry Charlotteans, but on their 50th Anniversary Party, on Sunday, August 13th, they’re going old school. They’ll just be serving up their original four menu items: hot dog, potato chips, ice cream cones and sodas.
If you’re not doing this already, you can subscribe to Charlotte on the Cheap’s daily emails (just one a day), and follow us on Facebook and Twitter.
But they’ll be giving them out for free, if you just make a $5 donation, which will be split between Levine Children’s Hospital and the Isabella Santos Foundation.
Other things you need to know:
- Limit one of each item per customer. No exceptions, and no picking up items for others. You must wait in line for your own order.
- Only the original four menu items will be served that day. No grilled items. No burgers. No fries. No milkshakes. No sundaes.
- Doors open at 11 a.m.
- Doors close after 1,500 orders.
- No refills on drinks.
In addition, country music artist David Britt will be playing a free show from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Mr. K’s is also selling 50th anniversary commemorative t-shirts and a portion of those sales will go to the Levine Children’s Hospital as well. They’re $15, are available in size small to 2X and are going fast.
If you make a $50 donation you get a t-shirt and a $10 Mr. K’s gift card. If you make a $100 donation you get two t-shirts and a $20 gift card.
