Opening Reception for Heartbeats of Childhood: Colors of Latin America
Saturday, September 28, 2024
1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
Free
The paintings in this exhibition reflect the memories of Latin American children living in Cabarrus County. Through their strokes and colors, the artworks reveal the experiences they carry in their hearts as immigrants: what brings them joy, what causes them sorrow, and how they perceive and feel the richness of their culture.
This exhibition also emphasizes the importance of caring for mental health from an early age and using art as a catharsis to help manage emotions and heal.
In each piece, the souls of the children of El Puente Hispano pulsate, inviting us to hear, in their own words, what it is like to live and dream in two worlds so distant but so intertwined in their hearts.
This exhibit will be up through October 5, 2024.
