“By th ePeople” Music from the Old North State takes place Friday, July 31, 2026, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., at North Carolina Music Hall of Fame, 600 Dale Earnhardt Boulevard, Kannapolis, North Carolina.

This event will incorporate music demonstrations and a conversation with singer-songwriter Hope Nicholls and music writer and historian Daniel Coston.
By the People – Music from the Old North State is a series of events exploring NC’s music heritage. NC Humanities along with partners Arts of the Albemarle, the Earl Scruggs Center, and the NC Music Hall of Fame, are hosting programs to foster dialogue and highlight NC’s music heritage and culture bearers.
