On January 17, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Carolina Raptor Center, 6000 Sample Road, Huntersville, North Carolina, holds a Bird-Day Bash to celebrate every bird turning a year older.
This family-friendly event will feature hands-on activities, games and special programs.
A Bird-Day Bash is included in the price of admission:
- Adults 23 to 64: $16
- Student ages 13-22: $14
- Child ages 3-12: $12
- Child under age 3: Free
- Seniors 65+: $14
- Military: $14
- Teachers: $14
- Members of Indigenous Tribal nation: Free
For many of the birds, it can be difficult or even impossible to know their exact birthdays. In the avian care world, it’s customary to advance a bird’s age every year on January 1st. Since many bird species are born in the spring, this allows Carolina Raptor Center to have a rough estimate of how old they are without knowing their exact birthday.
Look for updates on the Facebook event.
