Gaston County Parks & Recreation reports that there have been Bigfoot sightings in George Poston Park, 1101 Lowell-Spencer Mountain Road, Gastonia, North Carolina…or there will be, anyway, on Saturday, September 19, 2026. That’s when Bigfoot in the Park takes place, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Your adventure begins at Base Camp, where Bigfoot hunters will check in, gather their gear, and attend a pre-hunt briefing to prepare for their expedition.
Once briefed and ready, hunters will depart Base Camp and head into the park on a self-guided hunt for Bigfoot, following the clues and seeing what they can discover along the way.
But you don’t have to join the hunt to join the fun! Bigfoot in the Park is open to everyone, whether you’re ready to search the trails or just want to see what all the Bigfoot buzz is about.
You will get to enjoy local market vendors, food trucks, refreshments, activities, and more at Base Camp. Come for the hunt, come for the food and vendors, or just come hang out and enjoy a fun day in the park.
Bring the family, explore the park, and see if you can spot the legend for yourself!
