Bechtler Museum of Modern Art, 420 S Tryon Street, Charlotte, North Carolina, is hosting a free Family Day on Saturday, July 12, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Admission is free.
Bechtler is partnering with a local dance organization, Expand Movement, that includes people of all abilities. Their founder, Camerin Watson, often works with Davian Robinson, the Charlotte-based, visually impaired dancer and choreographer who collaborated with New York-based video artist Janet Biggs on the summer show.
Families of all ages and types are invited to celebrate the opening of the new exhibition Collection, Reframed: We Are Here, Beyond Vision. Learn about the exhibition.

Family Day Program
- Explore the galleries with our Movement in the Museum guide
- Reimagine artworks through movement activities led by Expand Movement dancers
- Practice sketching with tabletop wooden mannequins in the Bechtler Classroom
- 10:30 a.m.: Music and dance for all abilities with Expand Movement
- 12:15 p.m.: Second performance with Expand Movement
- 12:45 p.m.: Dance party on the plaza!
