For several months, the old Goodyear building at 100 East Stonewall has been temporarily repurposed as a home for art (before construction of Tryon Place.) Each month a group of artists has used the building as studio space, creating art and transforming the building itself through installation art, sculpture, painting, theater, dance and music. At the end of each month-long residency there was been an artist showcase where the public can experience it all.
The Goodyear building is coming to an end now, though, and a last event, Goodbye Goodyear, is taking place Friday, January 29th, 2016, starting at 6 p.m. It’s free to attend. There will be free beer from sponsors PBR Charlotte and Sierra Nevada.
Doors open at 6 p.m. with ample time to see new work by Kelly Keith, Lisandro Herrera, Holly Christine Keogh, Robert Childers, Leah Mulligan Cabinum, Matthew Steele, Todd Stewart, Kathryn Godwin, Graham Carew, Amy Herman and Amy Bagwell in the building and on the exterior.
Performances start at 7 p.m.:
