The popular Art After Dark program returns to Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts + Culture.

On Friday, March 24th, 2023, from 6 to 10 p.m., the Gantt Center is hosting Art After Dark: The Phygital Funk. This is a free event for ages 21+.
Celebrate the grand opening of the Gantt’s new Digital Arts Studio. Try fun Phygital (physical and digital) experiences. In addition, learn about digital entrepreneurship and enjoy a rooftop party with Metaverse DJ.

The Phygital Funk: Digital Creators Exhibition
6:00 pm – 10:00 pm
Take a peek into the future of black art! Join the Gantt for the opening of our Digital Creators Exhibition, an exploration of the work of 7 dynamic local artists who are using cutting-edge technology to evolve their creative process.
Cyclorama Wall Photos
6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Meet in the new Digital Arts Studio for a creative portrait with local photographer Dionna Bright. Guests will be able to pose with colorful mood lighting and capture a moment in front of the cyclorama wall. Dress to impress, grab a prop, and say “cheese!”
Digital Artrapreneurship Panel Discussion
6:00 pm – 7:30 pm
Digital entrepreneurship is an increasingly important area of growth and opportunities. Learn from these business owners and art-trapreneurs on how they are navigating the crazy post-pandemic digital world. The conversation will include Photographer and Creative Director Sancho Smalls, All Things Block Chain Founder Darren Underwood, NFTCLT Co-founder Tony Bravado, and other special guests.
Creator Lounge: Artist Meet and Greet
6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
The 4th floor creator lounge will be a hangout and networking opportunity for the Phygital Funk artists to discuss their creative processes, and share insight into the cutting-edge technologies that are helping them evolve their work.
NFT KIOSK
6:00 pm – 10:00 pm
Learn in minutes how to set-up your wallet and acquire your first NFT.
NFT CLT: The Digital Mix – Demistifying NFTs
7:30 pm – 8:30 pm
NFTCLT will answer all of your curious questions about NFTs and provide you with the tools and resources to get started on your Web3 journey. You’ll also have the opportunity to meet and network with other NFT enthusiasts and learn more about the rapidly growing world of blockchain and digital art.
Metaverse DJ
8:00 pm – 10:00 pm
End the night with Metaverse DJ, spinning all the vibes you love in the virtual realm. In-person and at-home guests can join the rooftop meta-verse party!
