Acting Out Studio’s first Film Festival takes place Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Sun Valley 14 Movie Theter, 6449 Old Monroe Road, Indian Trail, North Carolina.
Tickets are $15, plus fees.
The festival will showcase more than 90 local performers, ranging from children to adults, through professionally produced acting reels, original short films and an exclusive preview of an upcoming television project.
Among those confirmed to attend is 11-year-old Nola Wallace, a Charlotte native, current Acting Out Studio student and series lead in Apple TV+’s Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed, who also appeared in The Strangers: Chapter 2 and The Strangers: Chapter 3.
The festival will feature nearly 30 professionally produced acting reels filmed over the past 12 months, showcasing local actors in original scenes created specifically to demonstrate their on-camera talent. Audiences will also experience two special presentations:
- What Happened to Sam – An original dramatic short film featuring an all-child cast that explores the dangers of social media and artificial intelligence.
- Acting Out: The Series – An exclusive first look at the teaser for a television series proof of concept conceived and produced by the studio team. Filmed in Charlotte this past summer, the project features more than 40 local actors and an experienced Charlotte-area production crew.
