AARP’s Movies for Grownups offers free screenings of films in theaters across the country, as part of their mission to celebrate film and television that speak to the 50-plus audience.
Their free screenings are sometimes just for AARP members, and sometimes for the general public.
In order to attend, you always need to register for the screening.

On Tuesday, January 15th, 2019, at 6 p.m., AARP Movies for Grownups is screening What They Had at AMC Concord Mills 24.
This screening is for the general public. You don’t have to be a member of AARP or over 50 to attend.
If free passes are gone you can get on a waitlist.
Seating is first come first served, so it’s recommended that you arrive 30 minutes before the sreening time.
Summary of film:
From first-time writer/director Elizabeth Chomko, What They Had centers on a family in crisis. Bridget (Hilary Swank) returns home to Chicago at her brother’s (Michael Shannon) urging to deal with her aging mother (Blythe Danner) and her father’s (Robert Forster) reluctance to let go of their life together.
