National Night Out is a program that encourages local police departments to connect with the community in a fun way, and encourages the community members to stand together for safety and awareness. The official date is the first Tuesday in August, although not all communities hold their National Night Out event on that date. Many events also take place in October.
Some National Night Out events are for the general public and some are for members of specific communities or neighborhoods.
The Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office is presenting a National Night Out event at Cabarrus Arena & Events Center, 4751 State Hwy 49, Concord, NC, on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, from 5 to 7 p.m. Admission is free.

The event includes:
- Exploring specialize units, including Bomb Squad, Special Response Team, K9 Unit, Drone Team, and Motor Unit
- Free hot dog meal (while supplies last)
- FREE school supplies, while supplies last
- Free potted plant, while supplies last
- Free dental hygiene items, while supplies last
- Crime-solving demonstrations with our Investigators
- Free Child ID Kits from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children
- Connect with local community partners and non-profits to learn about available resources
- Animal Shelter booth with adoptable pets
- Face painting, crafts, and special appearances from local mascots!
