Charlotte International Dance Film Festival March 21

Charlotte to Host First-Ever International Dance Film Festival takes place Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., at International Picture House, 4237 Raleigh Street, Charlotte, North Carolina.

Tickets to the screenings are $18.

The Queen City will move to a new rhythm this spring with the launch of the Charlotte International Dance Film Festival (CIDFF), a bold new celebration of movement, storytelling, and cinematic innovation.

CIDFF is the first festival of its kind in Charlotte, merging the dynamic worlds of dance and film into an immersive, community-centered experience.

CIDFF will showcase short dance films from around the world, spotlighting innovative choreographers, visionary filmmakers, and the local creative scene.

CIDFF will feature:

International and local dance film screenings
Artist Q&As and community panels
Live dance performances

Schedule:

10:00am – 11:15am: Industry Panel 1: The Lens of Movement – Capturing dance, visual
storytelling, and collaboration between cameras and choreography.
11:30am – 12:45: Industry Panel 2: The Art of Motion Picture – Storytelling through
movement, collaboration, and adaptation of choreography for film.
1:00pm – 4:15: Film Screenings
5:00pm – 5:45pm: Red Carpet/ Mixer
6:00pm – 8:30pm: Award Ceremony – Theme: Vintage Hollywood; dress code: formal
