The Town of Oakboro, North Carolina, is in Stanly County, 34 miles to the east of Charlotte, past Midland and Locust, but before you get to Albemarle. It hosts a cruise-in the 4th Friday of every month, from March to October, from around 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
The published start time is 5 p.m., but many people bring their cars much earlier in the day. Parking is first come, first served.
It’s said to be the largest cruise-in held in a North Carolina downtown and well worth the drive from Charlotte for those who love cars.
These events are free for all. No registration fees.
Sometimes there are also two-day events, which include live music, food vendors and more.
Follow Oakboro Cruise-In on Facebook for updates. They usually create a Facebook event with details for each Cruise-In. Facebook event for the March 27th Cruise-In.
