Discovery Place Science is hosting a Star Party on Friday, April 24, 2026, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. This event is part of the North Carolina Science Festival’s Statewide Star Party.
Discovery Place Science is at 301 N Tryon Street, Charlotte, North Carolina.
It’s FREE to attend, but make sure to register here!
Discover the magic of the Moon at Discovery Place’s Star Party! Guests will use telescopes to explore the night sky, search for stars, and observe the Moon (weather permitting.)
In addition to star gazing, interactive stations will include building and launching stomp rockets, creating craters, making a night-sky picture, and sizing up the Moon.
The star and moon gazing will take place on the top of the parking deck. Additional activities will be happening on Level 3 of the museum. The rest of the museum will be closed.
Aside from the top floor of the parking deck, the rest of the garage will be open for parking, at the regular price.
The event is rain or shine. If it’s raining or too cloudy for stargazing, a planetarium show will be offered.
