Matthews Alive celebrates its 20th anniversary on Labor Day Weekend, 2012. Coinciding with the Democratic National Convention, it might draw a crowd from far beyond the borders of Matthews or Charlotte this year. The festival, which takes place at and around Stumptown Park, at Trade and McDowell Streets in Matthews, includes three stages of entertainment, children’s entertainment, live music, a parade (10am on Saturday, September 1st), carnival rides, over 30 food and drink vendors and much more.
