Matthews AliveThe very popular festival Matthews Alive returns for Labor Day Weekend, 2013, for more family fun, live music, carnival rides and more. It’s dedicated to the support of local non-profit organizations through music, arts and community involvement, and runs from Friday, August 30th, 2013, through Monday, September 2nd. The festival is free, but to go on the rides and participate in other attractions you’ll need tickets. Tickets cost $1 each or 20 for $15. Rides cost from 3 to 5 tickets, inflatables cost 2, games are 2 and KidZone games (under 8 years old) cost 1. All proceeds will go to community organizations. The Labor Day Parade takes place on Saturday starting at 10:30am. The festival is held in Downtown Matthews, at the corners of John and Trade Streets.
