Mecklenburg County Guardian ad Litem office, with other community agencies and organizations, is hosting a free “Family Fun Day” and memorial walk on Saturday, March 31st, 2012, from 10am to 12pm, at Frazier Park (1201 W. 4th Street, Charlotte, NC.) There will be a memorial walk for any child that has passed away due to abuse or neglect, as well as a media/press conference with speakers and a few short presentations. After that, over 20 agencies will have tables set up in the park with games, arts and crafts, and music. There will be a fire truck and patrol car on hand for children to play in/around. Hemby, the mascot from the Children’s Hospital will be in attendance.

The event will kick off Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention Month, which is in April. The Mecklenburg County Guardian ad Litem office advocates for children and teens in the abuse and neglect court system.
