Bike! Charlotte is seventeen days of bicycle related events and promotions used to encourage families, friends, and colleagues to break out the bike and use it as a means of transportation and recreation. From April 26th, 2013, through May 12th, there are so many bike activities, many free, that I can’t list them all here. Check out the Bike! Charlotte calendar for the entire schedule. I will list just a few here. Bike! Charlotte culminates in BikeFEST, bike and pedestrian themed block party, on May 12th, 2013, from 2pm to 5pm, in Plaza Midwood.
In addition, B-Cycles will offer FREE 30 minute bike rentals from May 6th to May 10th. Use promo code 51213. B-Cycles includes 200 blue bikes and 20 stations strategically placed throughout Uptown and surrounding neighborhoods from JCSU to Freedom Park. Consult this map to find all the locations.
Also, the Charlotte Area Transportation System is allowing anyone traveling with a bicycle on CATS Buses and the LYNX Train for free, April 28 – May 4, during BIKE! Charlotte.
