Gaston County Museum’s 15th Annual Blues Out Back concert series takes place the second Friday of the month from May to September, from 6:30pm to 8pm. Bring your blankets, lawn chairs and a picnic and enjoy live music behind the museum, at 131 W. Main Street in Dallas. The descriptions below are from the Gaston County Museum’s website.
May 10th: Abe Reid: Abe Reid is a master of growling out old tunes and screaming the harmonica. His authentic finger picking style with the guitar has lots of new squeaks and squonks to unleash on the unsuspecting. Abe’s style inspires countless imitations and makes getting the blues enjoyable. He’s an innovator, creating infectious melodies that deliver potent assaults on the English language.
June 14th: Big Ron Hunter: Big Ron Hunter hails from the Winston-Salem, North Carolina area and picked up the guitar in the 1960s where he played in various local bands. He was mentored by bluesman Guitar Gabriel and developed his unique style while raising a family and working a day job. Retired now, Hunter is looking to break into the blues scene and play his music.
