Contest: Win 4 tickets to Curious George show

Curious George, that lovable, poorly-supervised little monkey, is coming to the Bojangles Coliseum March 12th to March 14th. The plot of this musical is: Curious George is on a mission to help Chef Pisghetti win a world-famous meatball competition. This adventure takes him to Rome and The Golden Meatball Contest. With every swing and flip, George takes the audience through a fun-filled, entertaining story with lots of music and dance that the whole family will enjoy.

Win 4 tickets to the showing on Sunday, March 14th, at 1pm.

To win, leave a comment here, telling a story of something your child has done that is similar to Curious George. For example, once my son, then 2 years old, dragged a chair to the counter, climbed up, and stuffed his pockets full of blueberries. But you probably have a better story than that!

The contest starts now and ends Friday, March 12th, so it will be fast and furious. Let the shenanigans begin!

Keep in touch with Bojangles Coliseum on their Facebook page. Tickets for Curious George start at $15.

Wow my son has done a lot of crazy things. Something that has happened recently is that my son hung a pair of my pajamas on my fence. I asked him why did he do that and his response was, “Mom I saw a rabbit outside last night and he looked cold. Every time you get cold you go put on your pajamamas.” Precious

When you can not find your 3 and half year old son that is crying and you have looked everywhere. Do not forget to look behind the closet door in the garment bag that is holding your wedding dress all zipped up. Ya; that is where you will find him hanging off the floor scared and crying.

My 3 year old son decided to dig holes in our back yard and see if his toys would grow into more toys. I found 4 holes and about 6 toys burried all together. I did not have the heart to tell him that toys do not grow in the ground…LOL

Well, I gave my 3.5 year old a doughnut the other day. And so I thought she had finished it because she was playing in the other room. So ,about 2 hours had passed and I heard something in the kitchen . SO, I went to check to see what it was. She had pulled a little chair over to the trash can and had her head in it. When I asked what are you doing she said ” I’m getting my doughnut out momma, you threw it away and I was finished.

My son does a lot of wild things, but this one really sticks out. He just turned 1 and is into everything!!!!! He took all of my spices out of the lazy susan cabinet and put them into another room. However, I did not see this happen (boy….they move so quick:) ), and began cooking dinner later that day. I went to get some salt out, and to my surprise when i open the cabinet……..NOTHING!!! I looked all around and found them in another room on the floor everywhere. I think he could learn a lot more from seeing the show:)!!!

I was sitting in the living room playing with my son when I noticed that the toilet was still running after he had used it a while before. Prepared to go in and give the handle a jiggle, I instead, walked into the bathroom and discovered that it was not the toilet running, it was the faucet in the sink! The drain was plugged and water was flowing over and out of the sink and onto the floor (and leaking into the cabinet beneath I later found out). When asked why he did that, he flashed his “i’m so cute” smile and said that he just wanted to see if he could make a swimming pool in the house….

Well this one’s a little scary, but you did say to share something similar to what Curious George has done….my son, who was about 2 or 3 at the time, got into a box that I didn’t realize had some straight pins in it. When I found him, he had one of the pins in his mouth and he said his mouth hurt. I drove him straight to the ER to see if he had swallowed one of the pins. After an xray (which made me think about George swallowing the puzzle piece and the doctor finding it on the xray), it was determined that he hadn’t swallowed anything, thank goodness!

My son “learns” from George !
When he was 3, he would either just unroll the entire toilet roll in the bathroom, or while going through potty training he would wipe his bottom with an entire roll and we ended up with many clogged toilet bowls !!
His explanation – “I’m George Monkey!!”

My 2 yr old gran baby has developmental speech concerns and always wants to watch the monkey (curious george) I think she can relate to the way he talks- she understands him- just like I can understand her. A language all their own!- precious!

  • I have two girls who are very girly to say the least. Club Libby Lu was their heaven on earth. A couple of years go, when they were 5 and 4, we went to a Libby Lu party. They both got to make their own skin lotion with more glitter than any one human should be allowed to possess. For the rest of the day I carried both tubes knowing the mess they would make if I allowed them to carry it. Of course this did not stop them from asking every 30 seconds for more to cover themselves in it.

That evening I gave them a little more and left the tubes in the main bathroom. When I woke up the following morning I found both bottles open and the bathroom sink and floor covered in this stuff. I turn around only to find two half naked little girls with their faces caked with Libby Lu lotion. They actually looked like little Caspers.

You can’t truly appreciate this story unless you look at the picture I took. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v203/Soneji75/4-messygirls.jpg

When my son was about 18 months old, he was in the den alone for a short time while I was with his sister. When I came back, he had taken off his (dirty) diaper. He apparently been having a “tea party” with his sister’s litle tea set on the coffee table. There was a little swipe of poop on each little plate, as well as along the carpet and sofa. He looked very innocent sitting there, though he was not eating his “goodies”, thankfully!

okay my son is the ultimate curious george, he is now 11 years old and would love to win these tickets for his sister that is 3 years old and a huge curious george fan!!! well when starting school he went to a very strict christian school- in his first year of pre-k he one day asked to go to the restroom, when he hadn’t returned in appropriate time the teacher found him in the bathroom, he had dumped soap in the floor and was sliding all over the floor yelling YEEHAW!!! then on another day they had a fire drill, he looked up from his desk at 4 and said ” what the he– was that hahahahha and last but not least when he was three they were asking at school what they wanted for Christmas he replied he wanted “stripper” he teacher burst into laughter and asked him more questions and he was saying he wanted to go striper fishing not a “stripper” he has been 11 years of laughter!!! Got to love kids!

About two years ago, my then three year old decided to clean one of his matchbox cars in the self-clean oven. He put the car in the oven, locked the oven door, and pushed the self clean button. We didn’t notice until smoke was billowing from the vent on top of the stove. We had quite a fire! Thankfully my husband was home and able to unplug the stove and drag it outside, otherwise we would have been calling the fire department. :)

My daughter loves Curious George and loves to climb. In fact we refer to her as being part monkey. When she was 4 we went on a trip to Asheville and were watching some street performers. I had a moment of panic when I looked to find her and she was no longer right next to me. She had climbed to the top of a light pole and was just hanging out up there so that she could get a better view of the performer.

It was spring time a couple years ago when my son (3 at the time) was trying to put on his winter coat. My husband explained to him that is was much warmer outside now and he didn’t need to wear it anymore. A couple days later, I came down stairs first thing in the morning to get breakfast started. I soon discovered clumps of fur all over the living room floor. I panicked a bit while searching for my son and our cat. When I found them behind the couch he had scissors in one hand, fur in the other, and there the cat laid peacefully purring away. I asked him in terror what he was doing. He looked up at me calmly and confidently and said, “I’m taking his coat off so he won’t get to hot.”

My 6 year old daughter was adopted from China. She is very interested in the Chinese culture. She was playing with a stuffed bear the other day and noticed the tag on the bottom said, “Made in China”. She said, “Mommy, why don’t I have a Made In China sign on MY bottom?” To me, that was priceless!

My son is truly “curious”! He was “curious” to see what Oil Dry tasted like, after we sprinkled it on the oil in our carport. He was “curious” what would happen if he ate a container of Flintstones vitamins (thankfully there were only a few left). He was “curious” about jumping off his swing set, fell and hit his head on the metal post and gave himself a concussion. He was “curious” to see how fast he could run, and ran as hard as he could without looking and ran straight into an open car door, that was concussion number 2. I could go on :) Boys are great and very curious like Curious George!!

When taking a walk, my son was taking is time as usual, enjoying the scenery. When I told him to “pick up the pace.” He immediately stopped, looked down and said “where’s the pace?” After laughing and explaining, he said “okay, but where is the pace?” Oh the innocence…haha!

My now 6 yr old daughter was always into anything. I remember one particularly eventful morning when she was 3. First she climbed onto the kitchen table and managed to open the salt shaker, pouring it all over the table. While I was busy cleaning that up, she went to the bathroom and opened a new 500 ct box of qtips. When the box opened they flew everywhere! Another mess for mommy to clean up. After picking the qtips up, I walked back into the kitchen to find her sitting on the floor happily finger painting…with dishwasher detergent! What an eventful day for mommy! Other escapades included climbing on top of my desk at 18 months to reach the scissors on top of my hutch which she used to cut off her diaper once she climbed back down; waking up early to scrape all the icing off my birthday cake with her fingers before anyone else got up; climbing on top of the fridge to get the M&Ms I thought were put out of reach; covering herself and a friend in Vaseline and baby powder; pulling the rollerball out of Grandmama’s lipgloss during church and pouring it on her dress; and managing to take the top completely off the baby powder and pouring it on our navy blue sofa. She is definitely a busy, curious child!!

I have children who decided to tie yarn around the whole house one and then snap their webkinz to pants hangars and they flew around the whole house. They did this all in the ten minutes that I was in the shower. The house was full of yarn mazes.

  • My four-year-old son was very curious about how I always sat with my legs crossed. He couldn’t quite figure out exactly how I did it and ended up not quite getting it – until one day he did. And then he wouldn’t stop crossing his legs. Here’s the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UZrz6RPRiQo. Very curious!

My kids like to clean the bathrooms to surprise me. One time when my oldest was 4 or 5, he cleaned the bathroom for me and when I went upstairs he had overflowed the sinks because he had plugged up the drain and forgotten to turn the water off. Everything under the cabinet (tp, kleenexes, etc) was soaked, and the water even leaked through the ceiling to the kitchen. I never thought I’d ban my kids from cleaning, but did after that (for a while at least)!

My “curious” 10 year old would love to win the tickets for his “curious” little sister. When he was younger and out riding his bike, he wondered what it would feel like to ride his bike with his eyes closed. He decided to try it and ran right into a parked Lexus that was in front of a neighbors house.

My then 3 year old (now 4) son was watching TV while I prepped lunch one Saturday when I mentioned to his Dad that it’s a little too quiet in there. We walked in to find our son sitting on the couch watching Dora as if nothing was out of the ordinary. His face however was covered in purple marker making him look like the Joker (Jack Nicholson’s version, not Heath Ledger’s). His response was I wanted to look like Mommy does. At least he remembered to cap the marker and didn’t get any on the couch. Baby wipes and a trip to the pool worked like a charm in removing the marker. To this day I wish I had remembered to get a picture.

When my son was 3, we put a large aquarium in his room. He found the vacuum to clean the tank and somehow at 3.5 figured out how to work it. Well, he proceeded to wash all of his toy cars and empty 30 gallons of water onto his floor before I found him.

One day my 3 year old (then 2) decided to help me make pizza, she got up on the kitchen table and was playing in the flour, trying hard to make it stick together like pizza dough. In just a few minutes she managed to make a complete mess of her, the table and the floor. When my husband asked her why she makes so many messes she said “because it makes me happy!” we learned quickly to not ask her questions like that.

My daughter and I love Curious George. We watch it every morning before she goes to school. Recently, she has been getting reports about Destiny not listening or wanting to sit still. The other day the episode was about George going to school. George went to school and would not sit still at first. He wanted to play with everything. The teacher called George to circle time and they sat and sang songs. Then George and the kids in the class made a castle for the teacher. Just like my daughter.

My daughter always asks for juice boxes. We only allow her to have one a day. She will sit it down beside her while she plays. When she is finished I assumed she was throwing them away. We have a big window in our living room with decorative curtains hung. The other day I went over to clean the window and found four juice boxes behind the curtain. I asked her why they were there and she relpied, “for later.”

We were over at a friends’ home playing a Wii dance game with one of the dance mats on the floor. Our two-year old daughter, who loves George and mischief :-) , was quietly playing in the other room. When I went over to see what she was doing she had moved the doggy’s pee pad (the little rectangular pee pad for little animals) so that she could see the tv and it could be her dance mat. Unfortunately, the pad wasn’t clean and there were little tracks throughout the house…
