Ask an Engineer is a free event for homeschooling middle schoolers that will be held at EnergyExplorium, at 13339 Hagers Ferry Road in Huntersville. It’s free but you must register in advance. Registration closes February 8th but could close earlier if the event gets filled up.
To help kick-off National Engineers Week, the EnergyExplorium will open its doors to middle school age homeschoolers on Friday, Feb. 15 from 9 a.m. to noon.
This free event will begin promptly at 9 a.m. with a presentation led by a Duke Energy engineer. The presentation will focus on the different types of engineering, the education needed to become an engineer and the types of jobs available to engineers. Hold on, because the day doesn’t end there! Stick around for a career panel led by Duke Energy engineers representing a variety fields – come prepared to ask them your toughest and most interesting questions!
Later, join the engineers as they lead students through some fun, educational activities. If your engingeering questions still haven’t been answered, gather in the auditorium to watch a movie that will spark your imagination and deliver facts about engineering careers in a fun, motivating and engaging way.
As always, homeschoolers day is free, but space is limited. Registration is required. Please call the EnergyExplorium, 980-875-5600, or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
